About the Micron Blog

Micron Blogs
If you love technology and all the design and processes behind it, you’ve come to the right place. It’s all about crafting better solutions—and solving more complex problems–through better engineering. And our manufacturing process improvements and forward-thinking memory solutions are just that—engineering innovations that are the result of years of cumulative R&D work by some of the best scientists and engineers in the industry.

The Micron Blog is a place to discuss these recent developments and see what might be coming next. Whether its advanced storage solutions developed by our MAST Center team or cutting edge server, computing, and mobile technology, we hope you’ll join the conversation and help us shape the future of consumer technology.

About Micron’s Advanced Storage Technology (MAST) Center

Micron's Advanced Storage Center

Micron's Advanced Storage Center

The MAST Center was established in 1999 with the mission to design, develop, and optimize memory and storage eco-systems.

Its engineering and laboratory facilities host state-of-the-art development and debug capabilities that have fueled a history in high-speed memory and logic development. We’ve pioneered a host of significant achievements including:

  • Established the first Burst EDO chipset
  • Developed the first DDR chipset
  • Pioneered SL-DRAM system architectures
  • Created the world’s first PCI to ATA storage interface, which paved the way for the inclusion of ATA in the Southbridge

The center is also the base of operations for our advanced storage architecture team. This team—led by VP of Memory Systems Development, Dean Klein and Joe Jeddeloh, our Advanced Systems Technology Developer—defines and develops revolutionary forms of solid-state technology
